Admissions Overview

UCR

Students From Everywhere

Here at UCR, we realize that quality students can come from all walks of life and from all sorts of educational backgrounds.  So we've created a variety of paths to admission, including a series of admission programs that provide incentives to deserving students or that take into account special circumstances.  For instance, if you're a homeschooled student, or a first-generation college attendee, or a high school high achiever, we have a special admissions program just for you.

To learn more about all of our admissions programs, go to Paths to Admission.

If you are an International prospective Freshmen interested in admission to UCR, go to our International Freshmen page.

Steps to Admission

1.  Create a MyUCR account.  You'll receive customized information regarding campus events, important dates and deadlines, and other useful information about living and learning at UCR.

2.  Attend a campus event such as Preview Day (in the fall) or Discover Day (in the spring).  These events are designed to introduce you to the many academic and social options available to you here at UCR.  Oh, and they're a lot fun too!

3.  Schedule a student-led campus tour and you'll see UCR from a student's point-of-view.  Check out our academic and residential buildings.  (We've got a lot of new ones going up!)  Learn about special events and things to do here in Southern California.  And get great insider tips from your friendly student guide on ways to make the most of your UCR experience.

4. Call a counselor.  Our friendly, knowledgeable team members will be happy to help you with any questions you may have about the campus, admissions, financial aid, housing, and social organizations and activities -- just to name a few.
